Cates -- Funeral services for 11 month old Merrill Ray Orahood, who died Friday, May 15, 1936 were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of his parents, Eberly Orahood. burial was in Snoddy Cemetery north of here. Boord & shelby of Covington in charge. The child died Friday afternoon after being ill two weeks with pneumonia. He was born here July 29 1935, son of Eberley and Stella Allen Orahood. Surviving besides the parents are three sisters: Helen, Norma and Geneva and a brother Morris. Also surviving are the maternal grandfather Pearl Orahood of Veedersburg and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Allen of Cates. A brother preceded Merrill in death.
